Dean Tainio: Music, Photography and Website Design

MUSIC

I have been a musician all my life. I have played acoustic, classical, electric and bass guitars in different bands since my teens, in a wide range of styles. In recent years I have specialized in folk and Americana styles, playing with Kent acts 'Border Crossing' and 'Triage'. I also sing, and am good at contributing harmony vocals.

I have also worked as a sound and recording engineer. I studied composition at music college, and have written music for local stage productions and choirs. I also worked at secondary school level for several years teaching Music and Music Technology up to A-level, as well as guitar on an individual basis.

My music equipment currently includes Takamine, Martin, Yamaha and Yamaki acoustic and electric guitars, Marshall and Peavey amplifiers, Boss, Zoom, Roland et al effects, Korg and Yamaha keyboards, Shure and AKG microphones, Sibelius, Cubase et al software, and a JBL & Allen Heath P.A. system.

PHOTOGRAPHY

My other big love in life is taking photos and videos whenever I can, using my Sony cameras or my DJI 4K Drone. My current photography gear includes two Sony alpha cameras, Sony, Sigma, Tamron and Zeiss lenses. I also have a selection of Neewer flashlights, reflectors and lightboxes for portrait photography, as well as a portable backdrop frame which is great for product images, as well as useful for portraits.

I have taken photos for local bands, websites, art exhibitions and events, as well as for my own pleasure.

For photo processing I mostly use Adobe Lightroom, but if required can create special effects using Adobe Photoshop. I also use Adobe Premiere Pro, Da Vinci Resolve and Shotcut for video editing.

WEBSITE DESIGN

My other main interest is in Website design. I am familiar with the essential technologies required for a modern business website. I have a good working knowledge of webpage design languages, including HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Python, MySQL and PHP, as well as template design tools such as WordPress and Wix etc.

I always aim to create websites that are visually appealing, easy to navigate, and that are optimized for search engines.
