PHOTOGRAPHY

I am also an experienced photographer, taking photos and making videos in a variety of settings. I have a good eye for composition, and enjoy experimenting with different lighting and effects.

I have taken photos and made videos for local bands, websites, art exhibitions and other events, and I particularly enjoy landscape photography in various locations.

My current photography gear includes Sony digital cameras and DJI 4K drones, and I use Sony, Zeiss, Sigma, Tamron and Zuiko lenses. Other equipment includes tripods and a wide range of filters. I also have a selection of flashlights, reflectors and lightboxes as well as a large portable backdrop frame, which is great for product images and portraits.

To make the best of my equipment I have studied photo-processing on professional courses. For most processing I use Adobe Lightroom, and if required I can create special effects using Adobe Photoshop. I have a variety of different programs available for video editing.

MUSIC

I have been performing for over 40 years as a musician based in Kent, playing acoustic, classical, electric and bass guitar in different bands, in a wide range of styles. In recent years I have specialized in folk and Americana styles, playing with the Kent-based folk act 'Border Crossing' and Americana trio 'Triage'.

I also sing lead and backing vocals - I have a good ear for harmony - and can sing baritone, bass and falsetto. I am currently involved with the a capella quartet Quora, in which we sing a wide range of songs from the 16th century to the present day.

In addition I also work as a sound and recording engineer, having studied audio engineering alongside composition at Canterbury Christchurch College. I have also written and arranged music for local stage productions and choirs, as well as several works for solo guitar. In the past I worked at secondary school level for several years teaching Music and Music Technology up to A-level standard, as well as giving guitar lessons on an individual basis.

My music equipment currently includes Takamine, Martin, Yamaha and Yamaki acoustic and electric guitars, Marshall and Peavey amplifiers, Boss, Zoom, Roland et al effects, Korg and Yamaha keyboards, Shure and AKG microphones, Sibelius, Cubase and a variety of other music software.

I also have a JBL and Allen Heath PA system which you can hire if booking me to be the live sound engineer for your concert or show.

A bit more about me :

In addition to performing music locally in Kent, and getting out and about with my cameras, my interests include hill-walking and reading a good book. And whenever I can I love getting out to hear live music.
